	Could not instantiate mail function.

Solution SM2 Email Marketing used the Joomla! Mail functions, specifically the PHPMailer class.
This error is returned if Joomla! cannot connect to the mail server for some reason.

The causes of this could be one of the following:

1. Your Joomla! Mail Server settings are not correct. Consult your Mail server provider (which may be your hosting provider) for the correct settings and then test mail.

2. Your Mail Server is temporarily unavailable due to downtime. Consult your Hosting Provider to see if the server has been down.

3. Some mail servers will refuse connections if you have exceeded a mail limit. Consult your hosting provider to see if you have exceeded your email limit.

4. Your hosting server may be under considerable load. If the hosting server is also the mail server, which is often the case, then it may not be possible to make a new connection to the mail server software if the server is under strain from too many concurrent processes.
Consult your hosting provider to see if the server has been under load.
